Wedding & Proposal Ceremonies in Crete
Symbolic weddings, elopements, and proposals — held in nature, shaped around you
Marieke has been creating ceremonies
for couples in Crete for many years.
Sotiris has led rituals at ancient Minoan
and Greek sacred sites across Crete.
When we came together, we brought both worlds into one:
a ceremony that is personal,
rooted in this island,
and carries the weight of something real.
We have held ceremonies on hidden beaches,
in ancient ruins, in olive groves, and on clifftops at dusk.
Each one shaped entirely around the couple —
their words, their moment, their place in Crete.
Ceremonies for this season are now open.

Ceremonies in Crete
Weddings
A wedding with us is not a package.
It is a collaboration.
We meet with you — online or in Crete —
to understand what actually matters to you:
the place, the people, the words, the atmosphere.
Then we build the day around that.
We handle the structure
so you do not have to think about it on the day itself:
location scouting and permits,
ceremony writing and rehearsal,
timing, coordination,
and full on-site presence from the first moment to the last.
The landscapes of Crete become part of your ceremony —
not as decoration, but because this island holds something.
We know it well, and we know how to bring it in.
What does it cost?

What it costs
We are with you from the first conversation to the last moment of the day.
In person, in Crete.
Ceremony held by Marieke and/or Sotiris: €2,000
Full wedding planning and coordination including ceremony: from €4,000
Proposal experience: from €888
The check-in conversation (€111) is credited toward your ceremony or full planning if you move forward.

Proposals
A proposal is a question that deserves the right setting.
We find the place — a hidden bay, an ancient ruin at sunset, a quiet olive grove.
We handle everything around the moment:
arrival, atmosphere, timing, photography if you want it.
You focus on the question itself.
Simple, personal, and held with care.
Proposal experiences from €888.
How we work together
Step 1 — First conversation (€111, credited)
We begin with a short online or in-person conversation.
You share your idea, your moment, your intention —
whether it’s a wedding, a proposal, or a ceremony.
We look at what is actually possible:
location, timing, budget,
and the different directions your experience could take.
You receive a first raw draft after this:
including initial location and area suggestions,
a sense of style, and an overview of possibilities.
This creates a clear starting point —
not overwhelming, just enough to orient and feel what fits.
If we move forward, the €111 is fully credited.
Step 2 — Shaping the experience
From there, we build together — at the level you need.
For some, this means focusing on the ceremony itself:
structure, wording, rituals, and personal elements.
For others, it includes full planning or proposal design:
locations, flow, logistics, co-creation, and coordination.
We guide you through decisions without pressure.
We show you options, clarify what matters,
and help you stay with what feels right for you.
You remain the one choosing.
Step 3 — Holding the day
On the day itself, everything is anchored.
Location is set.
Timing is held.
The structure is clear.
Whether it’s an intimate proposal, a full wedding,
or a ceremony within a larger gathering —
you don’t have to manage it.
You are free to be there.
Before we begin
This is where we look at your idea, the place, the timing,
and what is realistically possible —
and feel whether the way we work aligns for both sides.
Contribution for this first step: €111
(fully credited if we move forward)
If we move forward with planning your ceremony,
the amount is credited toward the final planning and ceremony fee.

Who we are
We are Marieke and Sotiris — and we have been doing this
for a long time, separately and now together.
From the beginning, our work has included both ceremonies and event organization —
holding the moment itself, and everything that surrounds it.
We have worked across different contexts:
weddings, proposals, private ceremonies, but also fairs, festivals, and performance-based events.
Marieke has built her work over many years in Germany.
Sotiris, being Greek, has worked extensively in Athens across Greece and in London.
This combination brings both an international perspective
and a deep local understanding of how things actually move on the ground —
especially here in Crete, where we have been working closely with local partners for years.
Marieke
Marieke comes from years of ceremony and wedding planning.
She brings the warmth, the coordination, and the steady presence
that makes a day feel held
rather than managed.
Her focus is always on the people themselves —
their dynamic, their language, what is true between them.
From this, she shapes ceremonies that reflect
who they are,
often weaving their story with elements of the place and its cultural depth.
She works in German and English.

Sotiris
Sotiris comes from a deep practice with Minoan and ancient Greek ritual.
He brings the knowledge of this land — the sacred sites, the living traditions, and an understanding of how place, timing, and people come together.
Alongside this, he has many years of experience in event organizationand in working closely with local partners.
He knows how to connect, coordinate, and communicate clearly —
so that things are understood, confirmed, and held without confusion.
He works in Greek and English.
What We Bring
Together we offer something you will not easily find elsewhere:
a process that is both well-structured and adaptable, supported by experience,
local knowledge, and trusted connections
— and at the same time —
a ceremony that is rooted not only in this land,
but in the story and presence of the people themselves.
Whether you come as a couple, an individual, or with a specific idea —
we meet you there, and build from that point.
We keep our calendar deliberately small.
When we work with you, we are fully present.

Ritual Ceremonies for Retreat Leaders and Festivals
Beyond weddings and proposals,
we offer ceremonial openings, initiations, and ritual containers for retreat leaders, festival organizers,
and group gatherings in Crete.
Sotiris draws from the living lineage of
Minoan and ancient Greek ritual —
adapted for contemporary groups,
held in sacred locations across the island.
These are not theatrical performances.
They are genuine ceremonial containers that open a group
to a deeper quality of presence.
If you are organizing a retreat or festival in Crete
and want a ceremonial opening that actually means something, write to us.

A ceremony does not create meaning.
It gives form to a decision that already exists.
