An Open Human Circle at Luminous Yard in Crete

On April 18th, our garden opens. Not as a market in the usual sense.
No fixed prices.
No transactions that leave you feeling empty.
But also not as an idea or a concept.
Something simple:
A space where people meet, share, and exchange directly.
At Luminous Yard in Apokoronas, we are opening a local gathering — an open Human Circle —
where what matters becomes visible:
What you can offer.
What you need.
Nothing added.
Nothing to prove.

Before you arrive, you’re invited to take a moment.
Not to figure something out,
just to notice:
– What do I need right now?
– What can I offer, even something small?
You can bring this into the space.
Speak it.
Show it.
Sit with it.
And before you leave, you can write it on the blackboard in the middle:
I offer: I’m looking for:
& your contact details
That’s enough.
From there, things begin to move on their own.
People meet, speak, and exchange — directly.
Some stay in conversation.
Some move on.
Connections form where they make sense.
This is not a “new system”.
It’s not trying to replace anything.
It’s a simple practice:
Making things visible.
Meeting without transaction.
Letting trust grow through real contact.
What happens during the day
Alongside the open exchange, there are spaces to gather around practical themes:
CIRCLES
14:00 – 15:00 | Grow & Preserve Food
Sharing hands-on ways of cultivating, harvesting, and preserving food — especially without reliance on refrigeration.
14:00 – 15:00 | Forgotten Crafts & Skills
A space to bring and share practical knowledge and crafts that are slowly disappearing.
15:00 – 16:00 | Energy & Water
Exploring simple, local approaches to energy use, water systems, and resilience.
16:00 – 17:00 | Co-Create / Collaborate
A space to meet others, share what you offer, and sense what wants to happen together.
17:00 – 18:00 | Another Approach to Education
An open conversation around learning — for children and adults — including self-understanding, relationships, and everyday life.

These are not presentations.
They are shared spaces.
Conversations.
Experience.
Who this is for
For people already here —
who want to connect locally in a more direct way.
For those who feel the need for something simpler, more real —
and are willing to take part in it.
And for anyone curious to experience what happens
when exchange is not driven by money, but by presence.
How to come
You can bring something to share. You can come without anything.
Both are welcome.

This is not about creating something big.
It’s about starting something simple — and seeing what becomes possible when people actually meet.
If it makes sense, we will open the space again.
And again.
Letting it find its own rhythm — through the people who are part of it.
What begins here doesn’t end with the day.
It continues in conversations, connections,
and in the ways we meet each other in between.
